Adminimizer Toolbar

Blog Setup Help

Templates

There are two ways to change your template without coding. Note with both these options  any modifications you made to your previous template will be lost! :

  1. Try these pre-made templates:

Plain Brown (Right click and choose "Save Target as")

Currency  (Right click and choose "Save Target as")

Just go to your blog administration in Blogger, press the "Template" button and cut and paste the contents of these templates in to the text area.  After you do this goto Step 3 of the setup.

  2. Use BlogSkins.com. This is a service that will automatically update your blog template. Go there and search for "Adminimizer" to find templates that are Adminimizer enabled. There are at least 2 skins there that are set up for the toolbar:

    Rain + Adminimizer
    Smooth + Adminimizer

Then go on to Step 3 of the setup.

Settings File

The Settings file is kind of the heart of the Toolbar. It has many many configuration settings that you can play with. Most of them are explained here. Go ahead and play with them to your heart's content! We don't save your BlogID, and we don't save a copy of the settings file you create. If you lose it or want another, go ahead and create a new one.

Where do I put it?

Put it in the same directory on your webserver as your blog page. If you are hosting your site on Blog*Spot then you can't use the Toolbar UNLESS you have access to some website somewhere where you can stash the blogSettings.xml file. For example, if you have FTP access to www.example.com, but your blog is on Blogspot.com, you can copy your blogSettings.xml file onto example.com's server and then change your template to read:

<xml id="AdminimizerToolbar" src="http://www.example.com/blogSettings.xml"></xml>

Change the src attribute to match the URL of your settings file.  THEN, go into your IE security settings (Tools menu--> Internet Options --> Security --> Internet) and press the "Custom Level" button. Scroll down and change the "Access data sources across domains" option to "enable" or "prompt". It should work like a charm.
Thanks to Phil Ringnalda for this tip.

Where do I find my BlogID?

If you go to your blog entry page on blogger.com and look at the Address box of your browser. It should say something like blogid=1234567 at the end.

You can get your template file from here:
